ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester City School District is asking students to bring home their remote learning technology on winter break.

That's in case schools need to be closed due to COVID-19.

The district emphasized on Twitter Tuesday that the current plan is to have students return to in-person learning on January 3.

The school says the move is just to prepare for the possibility if cases are to rise dramatically.

District officials say if there is a shift to remote learning, a notification will be sent out immediately.
