PENFIELD, N.Y. — Congratulations are in order for an 11-year-old Penfield dancer.

Linden Gawronski is Rochester's first national Irish dance champion.

She took home the CLRG United States National Irish Dance championship Saturday, beating out 88 other competitors.

Her home team, Rochester Academy of Irish Dance, says Gawronski will now represent Rochester and the U.S. at the upcoming 2022 Irish Dance World Championships in Belfast, Ireland.

“Linden is a dedicated and hardworking student,” Rochester Academy co-owner and teacher Rachel Burke said in a statement. “We are extremely proud of her accomplishment.”

Gawronski is a fifth grader at St. Joseph School in Penfield.
