Anthony Noto is a two-time state champion and has a record of 99-3 headed into his junior season. But it wasn't until middle school, when Noto brought home an informational flier, that the current junior even thought about trying out for wrestling.

"At the time I used to play baseball and my dad used to wrestle back then so I used to look at his old videos, so I was like, maybe I should try it and see how it works out," Noto said.

With only five teammates, Noto has emerged as a natural leader at Honeoye Falls-Lima.

"It just feels good, knowing that kids look up to me, and knowing that I put the time in to get better makes me feel good, teaching the younger kids to get them to that next level," Noto said.

The high school wrestling season begins November 6; the state tournament is scheduled for February.
