SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Fiesta-Youth San Antonio celebrated their five-year anniversary Sunday afternoon.
Part of the festivities included a proclamation presented by State Rep. Diego Bernal and another, from the Bexar County Commissioners Court.
The LGBTQ organization works to empower youth to begin to build a future and become successful members of society through member acceptance and freedom of individual expression.
"There are other people like me and people that I can relate to, who I can develop these great relationships with,” said Conner Halbert.
The Fiesta-Youth 2018 Fiesta medal was released at the party. Plus, the nonprofit has been accepted as an official Fiesta 2018 organization. LGBTQ students have received more $10,000 in scholarships from the group in the last five years.
