SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police are investigating a woman’s death Monday as a possible case of strangulation.

About 10 a.m., police were called to a home located on Monticello Court, just east of Lyric Street.
Police at the scene said a woman was strangled and pronounced dead at Mission Trails Hospital. On Wednesday, December 26, the victim was identified by the office of the medical examiner as 30-year-old Samantha Padilla. Her cause and manner of death were not immediately released.
Police took a man in his 40s identified as a person of interest in the death into custody.
An investigation is ongoing.
