The new, record-breaking coaster officially opened to the public Friday after weeks of previews.
Iron Gwazi is a rebuild of the former wooden Gwazi coaster with steel added to the track. It’s the tallest hybrid coaster in North America and the fastest and steepest of its kind in the world.
The coaster, which reaches speeds of up to 76 mph, takes riders up a 206-foot tall peak before plunging them into a 91-degree drop.
