ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- 4:40 p.m. update: The six traffic signals are now working, according to a release from the St. Petersburg Police Department.

City police say there are a number of traffic signals that aren't functioning because of a Duke Energy power outage.
Duke is working on the problem but it may take until 6 p.m.for all of them to be working properly.

- 34th Ave N. and 4th Street N.
- 34th Ave N. and MLK Street N.
- 38th Ave N. and Haines Road N.
- 38th Ave N. and 16th Street N.

TECO is reminding residents to stay away from downed wires. Assume all wires are power lines and assume they are energized.
Always assume that a downed power line is energized, and move away to safety. While some energized wires spark and snap, others may not appear dangerous.
