A couple called deputies twice Monday - once, when they noticed one of their cars had been vandalized at the Stillwater Palms Apartment Complex in Palm Harbor; and again when they saw D'Anastasio acting strangely.
When deputies responded, D'Anastasio began yelling at them, according to investigators.
They say he pulled out a flare gun and fired at one of the people who had called 911.
A deputy shot back, hitting a sliding glass door and accidentally shooting the suspect's girlfriend, who was inside the apartment.
On Tuesday, a judge ordered D'Anastasio have no contact with the victims.
D'Anastasio's bond is $10,000.
The deputy has been placed on administrative leave.
