ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A new funeral home in the Greater Pinellas Point neighborhood in St. Petersburg hopes to help people through their darkest times while also helping the entire community.

• Sanchez Rehoboth Mortuary and Cremation Services had grand opening this week
• "Blessing Box" outside building has non-perishable food, toiletries for those in need
• Donations can be given to the Blessing Box anytime

Sanchez Rehoboth Mortuary and Cremation Services, located at 6501 25th Way South, had their grand opening this week. 

Owners Irving and Judy Sanchez decided to put a "Blessing Box" outside the building to help people in need.

“We want to not just be in the community, but to be part of it. And this is one of the ways that we can show the community that we care and we’re here to serve," said Judy.

The box has non-perishable food items and toiletries. People are welcome to take whatever they need, or donate items.

“We try to keep different type items in there so that people can help themselves in time of need but they can also give," said Judy.

The Sanchez's also hope anyone who comes to the funeral home to plan services for a loved one is able to feel comfortable. 

“I recognize the vulnerability of people, the uncertainty of people," said Irving. He went on to say, “I take pride in establishing relationships and being real in the midst of what I’m doing.”

Anyone interested in donating to the "Blessing Box" can put items inside at any time.
