WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Another piece of Winston-Salem’s Northern Beltway is moving ahead.

The State Department of Transportation awarded a contract for three sections on the eastern side between University Parkway to New Walkertown Road.

Work could start within the next few weeks on the seven-mile stretch.

The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2022.
