JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. -- Seven teens caused West Johnston High School to be placed under lockdown Friday when they illegally entered the premises.

The sheriff says the teens attempted to meet with a girl one of them met online in the parking lot of the school. When the girl didn't come out, authorities say they attempted to go into the school.

Despite being told by an SRO that their presence on the campus was not permitted, the teens advanced onto the property causing a lockdown. The SRO managed to detain four of the teens on site, and the other three were quickly detained off of school property. 

Three subjects who were 16 and 17 years of age were arrested and charged with Second Degree Trespassing, and each received a $50,000 secured bond.

The charged are as follows:

  • Joel Luna-Bernal, 16, of Raleigh.
  • Jay Anthony Contreras, 17, of Raleigh.
  • Luis Daniel Garay, 16, of Raleigh.

The other four juveniles who were 14 and 15 years of age were charged as juveniles and released into the custody of their parents. Their identities are not being released.

No weapons were found on any of the subjects.
