WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -- A cat that walked 12 miles back to his family and was then almost euthanized has been adopted by a new family.

Toby's first family no longer wanted him and he was given away to another family. Missing them, he walked 12 miles back to his home.

But when he arrived, his family took him to a shelter and asked staff to euthanize him.

The shelter called SPCA and in just a couple weeks, he was adopted into a forever home.
