LEE COUNTY, N.C. -- An investigation into a local man operating an indoor marijuana growing operation ended Wednesday.
- Agents found where Cheeseman had converted marijuana into a butter and oil for consumption or cooking
- Cheeseman had even just cooked a dish of brownies using the butter containing THC
- Cheeseman had converted his shed into a growing facility supplied with air conditioning, state of the art LED grow lamps and filtration system
Lee County Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents executed a search warrant at the home of Michael Alan Cheeseman. Upon entry, agents located a single plant growing in the master bathroom, along with several marijuana plants hanging in the bathroom closet.
Agents say Cheeseman had also converted marijuana into a butter and oil containing high values of THC for consumption or cooking. Cheeseman had even just cooked a dish of brownies using the butter containing THC sitting on the stove.
In the shed behind the home, agents found 13 additional marijuana plants growing. As it turns out, Cheeseman had converted the shed into a growing facility supplied with air conditioning, state of the art LED grow lamps and filtration system to eliminate the odor.

Agents seized a total of 7,310 grams of marijuana, butter and oils.
Cheeseman was charged with one count of trafficking marijuana by manufacturing, one count of trafficking marijuana by possession, possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling place for an illegal controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cheeseman is now in jail under a $200,000 secured bond.
