Saturday, the Bryan Multi-Sports Complex hosted the 2019 Mid-Atlantic Regional Quidditch Championships.

College teams from several states, as far as New jersey, and including hometown schools Duke and UNC Chapel Hill, are competing this weekend for the chance to play for the cup next April in Charleston, West Virginia.

For fans seeing the Harry Potter game come to life for the first time Saturday, it was quite an experience.

"I found out about the rules as I went so I was really observant and I think it's really cool, how they play the game," said Sophia Bean, a Harry Potter fan who lives in Goldsboro.

And they'll continue playing again tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Admission to the Bryan Complex is free. All attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
