The month of May has certainly gotten off to a warm start. In fact, through the first 3 days of the month relative to average temperatures:
- Charlotte is a +10
- Cape Hatteras is a +9
- Wilmington is a +4
- Raleigh is a +9
- Greensboro is a +10.
But how did April stack up? Here's the departure from normal for temperatures and precipitation.
- Charlotte +3.7, +2.29"
- Cape Hatteras +6.5, +4.97"
- Wilmington +2.4, +1.01"
- Raleigh +1.6, +3.44"
- Greensboro +2.7, +0.59"
So in general, April was warm and wet. A notable exception to the warmth was the chilly Easter weekend, but that chilly setup over the Easter holiday was basically an island of cool in a sea of April warmth.
