Unsettled weather will return to North Carolina this weekend.

What You Need To Know

  • Showers and storms are expected late Friday and again Saturday

  • Sunday could also feature a few showers and storms

  • At least 1 to 2 inches of rain is expected this weekend with locally higher amounts possible

The weekend could start with scattered storms late Friday. Showers and storms are also looking likely Saturday.

During that time, we'll have to watch for some potential for strong storms along with downpours that could lead to localized flooding.

Much of central North Carolina should see at least one to two inches of rain. A few spots may end up with higher totals.

For now, the highest chance for rain this weekend should come on Saturday. However, we can't rule out a few showers and storms on Sunday as well.

Both weekend mornings will start in the 60s. Afternoon highs should top out near 80 to the low 80s.
