Construction began on the main street bridge in April, cutting down a four lane structure into one lane in both directions.

New York State DOT says the bridge will get a face lift meaning workers will take apart the entire top portion of the bridge and replace it.

Officials say construction was needed to make the bridge last longer but some drivers aren't  happy about it.

And local shop owners say business has been slow since the construction.

"People are just really trying to avoid Main street or theyre just trying to get though it," said Owner of The Pear Tree Marilyn Mintener. "There's a lot of vacant parking spots to park out here, because people are really just trying to get through."

Officials say construction will wrap up this fall.
